Students at The Art Institutes schools have plenty of opportunities to shine as they hone their creative skills. These annual art competitions challenge currently enrolled students to think creatively to deliver the most innovative entry – while meeting strict deadlines. Along with the career-building experience, the best entries for our art competitions earn some tidy prizes.
Cool vs. Cruel Fashion Design Competition
In partnership with The Humane Society of the United States, this competition challenges fashion students attending The Art Institutes schools to create haute couture garments using fur-free fabrics and materials. Winners are announced in November every year.

The Art Institutes Student Design Competition
Co-sponsored by Adobe Systems Incorporated, this national competition showcases the graphic design ingenuity of current students. Each year, the most inspired print design created with Adobe software by a student from an Art Institutes school wins an awesome prize package. Learn more about the competition.
Dam Short Film Festival Best of The Art Institutes Showcase
This showcase features short films created by students, faculty and alumni of The Art Institutes schools. Showcase selections range from public service announcements and parodies to music videos, demo reels and short stories.
Art Institutes National Nonprofit Web Raising Project
One of The Art Institutes national community service initiatives: building stronger communities – one Web site at a time – is what The Art Institutes National Web Raising event is all about. The Art Institutes' annual National Web Raising event entails live Web site launches in cities across the U.S. Since its inception in 2000, the National Web Raising effort has created dozens of Web sites for not-for-profit organizations providing services in the arts, the environment, social programs and education.
